Asus ASM58

Hardware That Doesn't Work with Linux

Manufacturer: Asus

Chipset: ASM58 (a.k.a. “Mozart2”)

Reason: Datasheet not available

Functionality: 0% (no driver)

URL for more information: http://www2.lm-sensors.nu/~lm78/cvs/lm_sensors2/doc/chips/w83781d

Notes: Without a datasheet, it will hardly be possible to write a working driver. Some unofficial, limited documentation is available and could be used to write a minimalist driver. It’s probably not worth the trouble though. The previous attempts of supporting undocumented hardware monitoring chips (Asus AS99127F and Asus ASB100) have proven to raise more user requests and complaints (e.g. about missing features) than can be handled.
