I recently bought a VGA card from AOpen (Aeolus FX5200), it doesn’t work under Linux, but it works find under Windows. This is not standard behaviour for nVidia based cards, I have two other brands with exactly the same chipset and they work just fine.
The shop where I got it didn’t support Linux, but after an e-mail to AOpen, I now also know that AOpen doesn’t support Linux.
So if you want to use AOpen hardware under Linux, you’re totally on your own, it’s not guaranteed by the manufacturer.
So my advice is: don’t buy AOpen hardware if you’re serious about Linux!
